Dakinaa.com sells fine jewellery across five metals – yellow gold, rose gold, white gold, silver, and platinum – each in multiple carat configurations. A product can have dozens of variations based on metal type, carat purity, stone setting, and weight.
Gold rates change. That is a daily reality in the jewellery business. Before this project, every price update meant going into the catalogue, finding each variation, and manually revising the number. With a catalogue this large, that process took hours and introduced frequent errors.
There was also no clean way to show customers how the price was composed – what portion was the metal, what was the diamond, what were the making charges. The price was a single number with no transparency behind it.

Updating prices every morning across the full catalogue was not sustainable. A single gold rate change meant hours of work – and still no guarantee the numbers were right everywhere.

We built a custom Metal Pricing Manager plugin – a WooCommerce extension designed specifically around how jewellery pricing works. The owner enters one number: the current 24K gold price. The plugin does everything after that.
From a single 24K rate, it calculates prices for all five metals and generates carat-specific values for 9K, 18K, and 22K – using standard purity formulas. These prices apply to every product variation in the catalogue. No manual updates. No variation-by-variation editing.
Diamond prices, wastage charges, and making charges slot in as separate components. On the product page, customers see a full breakdown of what they’re paying for. The final price is transparent, and the backend stays manageable.
Auto mode connects to a gold rate API for real-time pricing. Manual mode lets the owner enter the current 24K rate directly – useful when they want control over the timing.
Customers see exactly how the price is composed – metal cost by carat, stone price, wastage, and making charges. The final number is no longer a black box.
One rate change updates every product variation in the catalogue at once. A process that previously took hours now takes seconds.

Diamond components are priced separately and added to the final product price as a distinct line in the breakdown – so the metal and stone values are always clear.
